Who we are

We are an IB continuum school offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). We are a communtiy of around 1100 students and 185 staff members from all over world. ISU is a member of the Dutch International Schools (DIS), a group of government- subsidised schools providing internationally oriented primary and/or secondary education. As such, ISU is part of two collaborating school boards, SPO Utrecht (primary) and Nuovo Scholen (secondary).

Vacancy

The International School Utrecht is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Secondary Laboratory Assistant / Technician, ideally with International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme/Diploma Programme experience.

Qualifications and experience:

  • A background in experimental sciences is preferred
  • A minimum of two years’ laboratory work experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with CLEAPS and or other lab safety guidelines for schools
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is ideal
  • Strong organizational skills and appropriate ICT skills to support the role
  • Willingness to work closely and collaboratively in a strong team within the science department of the secondary school but also able to work indepedently
  • Demonstrates professionalism, commitment, integrity, and perseverance
  • Be culturally competent with an internationally minded attitude

Responsibilities

  • To support the science teachers and students in the delivery of the learning in the secondary school
  • Organise apparatus, prepare experiments as directed by the teachers
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Manage resources and full inventories ensure the school is safety compliant
